Snow and Cold

Remember when we were kids, how great it was to get out of school early for snow? Yesterday they got to have that experience. I'm not sure why the whole day wasn't cancelled, but the world would be a little different place if I got to make all of the decisions. :) Teachers get to stay a little longer though. We stay until we get the okay call that the students on the busses have all been safely delivered home, and we know that they aren't coming back to the school.

This morning, we get to go in a little late as well, seeing as the wind chill is around 35 below. Now, if I had made the decision, I would have decided this last night, but we got to find out at about 6:15 this morning, after I had already climbed out of my warm bed. Oh well, I can have a leisurely morning and get to work in my own sweet time. And, there was time to blog!

Chad is headed off to work, even in the bitter temperatures. He has a meeting today, and he works in the real world, unlike me.

That snowflake hat is TOO cute! I'd like a copy of the pattern--maybe I'll have time to knit again one of these days! :)

Believe me Trisha, all of you Northerners stuck up in that dreadful cold have been on my mind! I hope you are all staying warm, and I agree about the decisions..they would be much different if I were making them too!!
I have to say--after 8 years in Texas, I have become soft to cold weather...for instance, I looked at the thermometer a little bit ago, and it said 40 degrees and I thought "This is too cold". How pathetic is that!!

Stay warm and Have a wonderful 2009:)

Brrrrrrr! Cold enough for ya?
Glad you got to enjoy a snow day.

And, if you're game, I'm raising my hand over here. Want to send one of those lovely hats to Wisconsin? I love it! But I've got a big head so add stitch or two. I wear caps most all winter.

Balou - I will get one in the mail asap! I was wearing it around the house last night, and Chad was making fun of me. Do you wear yours around the house, the office, or just inbetween? :)

Do you happen to have any more of those cute hats? It's not as cold here, but I've been trompsing around with a hat that has a ball on the top that makes me look 5 years old.
